Buyantogtokh Dashdeleg - Founder

Buyan is a Mongolian mining entrepreneur with over two decades of experience developing mining projects in Central Asia. He is the founder and 100% owner of the Chandman Uul project, one of Mongolia’s largest privately held copper-gold-iron projects, which has been sold to China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO), a Chinese state-owned enterprise, for US$19 million. NORINCO has committed to invest an additional US$100 million to acquire the project and settle all liabilities, as well as US$60 million to develop the asset into a producing mine. Buyan has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and began his career in the construction sector before transitioning into mining.
 
He has deep regional expertise, speaks fluent Russian and Mongolian, and has a proven ability to deliver on complex, capital-intensive projects. He has led large workforces, worked with international consultants and expatriate engineers, and built key infrastructure including a 160km powerline in difficult terrain. His area of specialty is de-risking high-potential greenfield mineral projects through exploration, metallurgical testing, process design, and feasibility-stage work.

Jeremy Margolis - Founder

Jeremy is an internationally respected attorney with a distinguished career spanning public service, private practice, and high-stakes cross-border advisory work. A former Assistant United States Attorney in Chicago for 11 years, Jeremy handled nationally significant cases involving public corruption, organized crime, terrorism, and financial crimes. He later served as Director of the Illinois State Police and as Illinois Inspector General.

In private practice, Jeremy represents Fortune 50 companies, public officials, and foreign nationals in critical legal and regulatory matters. He has extensive experience in sanctions relief, extradition, and international legal cooperation and has served as advisor to foreign governments. Jeremy’s deep understanding of geopolitical dynamics and legal risk complements Viaticus Minerals’ strategic goals of building secure, cross-border supply chains.

Peter Rhodes - Chief Financial Officer

Peter is a Chartered Accountant with nearly 20 years of experience in corporate finance, mining investment, and capital markets. He has served as CFO for multiple mining and energy companies in emerging markets and was previously CFO of Zasagchandmani LLC, the entity holding the Chandman Uul project.

Peter is also the founder of Alliance Critical Materials, a European private equity fund focused on securing critical minerals for defense and industrial sovereignty. He has raised over US$400 million for ventures in the mining, cannabis, IT, and energy sectors. Peter has extensive experience in preparing projects for institutional and strategic investment through rigorous technical and financial de-risking.

Dan McGroarty - Senior Advisor

Dan is one of the foremost experts on U.S. critical mineral policy. A former Special Assistant to the President of the United States and advisor to two U.S. Secretaries of Defense, Dan has spent over a decade advising Fortune 500 companies and startups on strategic metals and national security matters.

He has provided expert testimony to Congress on multiple occasions and was a contributing participant to the 2015 National Defense Stockpile Requirements Report. Dan is also Principal of the American Resource Policy Network, a policy think tank dedicated to resource independence. He served as President and Director of U.S. Rare Earths and is a sought-after speaker on rare earths and critical minerals.
